Why strong passwords matter
Every year, billions of credentials are compromised. A strong password is one of the simplest steps you can take to stay safe online.
Protect your accounts
Weak passwords are one of the most common causes of security incidents. A strong, unique password for every account is your best defense.
Avoid password reuse
If you reuse passwords, one breach can put all your accounts at risk. Unique generated passwords remove that risk.
Reduce guessing attacks
Random passwords are much harder to guess or crack with common patterns, brute force, or dictionary attacks.
Protect your identity
Your online accounts contain sensitive information like finances, health data, and communications. Strong passwords help keep them private.
How it works
Generating a secure password takes only a few seconds.
Customize settings
Choose password length and character types, or switch to passphrase mode.
Generate instantly
Click generate and your new password is created right in your browser using secure randomness.
Copy and use
Copy it to your clipboard with one click and paste it into your account settings.
Stay secure
Use a different password for every account. A password manager can help you keep track of them.
Practical articles on passwords, breaches, and secure storage
We are building a magazine on secure passwords: from generators and passphrases to breaches, hashing, MFA, and passkeys.
How does a password generator work?
A password generator creates random strings or passphrases that are much harder to guess than manually thought-up passwords.
What is a strong password?
A strong password is long, unique, and random enough that it cannot be guessed or efficiently reused with leaked data.
Store passwords securely: This is how to do it correctly
Passwords shouldn't end up in notes, browser text files, or reused patterns. The safest way is clean administration with a password manager.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about generating secure passwords.
Is this password generator safe?+
Yes. All passwords are generated entirely in your browser using cryptographically secure randomness. Nothing is sent to our servers or stored.
What makes a password strong?+
A strong password is long (16+ characters), includes upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols, and is not based on personal information or dictionary words.
What is a passphrase and is it secure?+
A passphrase is a sequence of random words separated by a character such as a dash. Passphrases with 4 or more words are very secure and often easier to remember than random strings.
Should I use a different password for every account?+
Absolutely. Reusing passwords means one compromised account can expose every other account that uses the same password. Always use a unique password per account.
What does entropy mean?+
Entropy measures how unpredictable a password is in bits. Higher entropy means the password is harder to crack. A password with 80+ bits of entropy is considered very strong.
Do you store or track my generated passwords?+
No. We do not store, log, or transmit generated passwords. Everything happens locally in your browser and we cannot see what you generate.
What does exclude similar characters mean?+
This option removes characters that look alike, such as O and 0 or l and 1, to reduce confusion when reading or typing your password.
